DU's Glynn and GVSU's Bursinger named women's lacrosse weekly award winners

GLIAC -- The Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) has announced the fourth GLIAC Lacrosse Athlete of the Week awards for the 2022 season. Davenport sophomore midfielder Anna Glynn was honored as Offensive Player of the Week and Grand Valley State junior midfielder Molly Bursinger received Defensive Player of the Week recognition.


OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK - Anna Glynn, Davenport

For the third time in her career and second time in as many weeks, Anna Glynn (Rockford, Mich.) has been named GLIAC Offensive Player of the Week. The most-recent honor comes after Glynn stuffed the stat sheet for the Panthers in a pair of home wins over Tiffin on Friday, 22-5, and Findlay on Sunday, 20-7. In those two victories, the sophomore midfielder racked up 11 goals, seven assists, 22 shots, 17 shots on goal, five ground balls, two caused turnovers, and 16 draw controls.

DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK - Molly Bursinger, Grand Valley State

Junior midfielder Molly Bursinger (Powell, Ohio) helped lead the No. 10 Lakers to two wins this week as the Lakers advanced to 7-1 on the season. GVSU defeated Findlay on Friday 14-4 and Tiffin on Sunday 19-2. Bursinger and the Lakers shut out Tiffin for three periods, with their only two goals coming in the final eight minutes of the game. In Sunday's win, Bursinger finished with two goals, while grabbing two ground balls and winning five draw controls. On Sunday, she scored two goals, dished out one assist, snagged three ground balls, forced three turnovers, and won eight draw controls. This week in total, Bursinger scored four goals, grabbed five ground balls, and won eight draw controls. Bursinger leads the Lakers in draw controls with 55 so far this season.
