GVSU's Arce and NU's Vorobeva selected GLIAC Tennis Players of the Week

GLIAC -- The Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) has announced its fourth weekly tennis awards for the 2022 campaign. Grand Valley State senior Sebastian Arce was named men's player of the week, while Northwood senior Kate Vorobeva was recognized as women's player of the week. 


MEN'S PLAYER OF THE WEEK: Sebastian Arce, Grand Valley State

Sebastian Arce (Cali, Columbia) went 2-0 this past weekend in singles and doubles, helping the Lakers improve to 6-1 on the season. He earned a straight set 6-3, 7-6 win at No. 1 singles to lead the Lakers to a 7-0 win over Grace College. Arce teamed with Pep Canyadell to claim a 6-2 win from No 1. singles. So far this season, Arce has posted a 4-0 record in singles and a 5-1 record in doubles.


WOMEN'S PLAYER OF THE WEEK: Kate Vorobeva, Northwood

Senior Kate Vorobeva (Tatarstan, Russia) clinched Northwood's match versus Hillsdale, winning 6-7 (3-6), 6-4, 6-2 at No. 6 singles to secure the comeback win for the Timberwolves.
