GLIAC Outdoor Track & Field Weekly Honors | Week 4

GLIAC -- The Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) has announced weekly awards following the fourth weekend of the 2018 outdoor track and field season. In women's competition, Grand Valley State's 4x100 relay squad earned GLIAC Track Athlete of the Week honors, while Wayne State senior Jessica Kluz captured GLIAC Field Athlete of the Week accolades. On the men's side, Tiffin's 4x100 relay team earned GLIAC Track Athlete of the Week distinction, while Saginaw Valley State senior Andrew Mudd captured GLIAC Field Athlete of the Week recognition.


WOMEN'S TRACK ATHLETE OF THE WEEK - Grand Valley State 4x100 - Nicole Sreenan, Angela Ritter, Chant’e Roberts, Willow Stuedemann

The Grand Valley State women’s 4x100m relay composed of Nicole Sreenan, Angela Ritter, Chant’e Roberts and Willow Stuedemann hit an NCAA qualifying mark of 46.14 en route to a first place finish during the Ball State Challenge. The group’s time is the fastest in the GLIAC and the third best time in Division II.


WOMEN'S FIELD ATHLETE OF THE WEEK - Jessica Kluz, Wayne State

Wayne State senior Jessica Kluz earned a top finish at the Oakland Golden Grizzlies Invitational over the weekend with a 1.70 meter performance in the high jump. Her mark is an NCAA Division II Provisional Qualifying mark is No. 1 in the GLIAC and No. 9 nationally.


MEN'S TRACK ATHLETE OF THE WEEK - Tiffin 4x100 - Jonte Baker, Duane Boyd, Michael King, Reginald Thomas

Tiffin University's 4x100 relay team of Jonte Baker, Duane Boyd, Michael King, and Reginald Thomas his an NCAA provisional mark of 40.46 in winning the event at the Walsh Invitational. The mark is the second outdoor best mark in the NCAA this year and also tops in the GLIAC so far this season.


MEN'S FIELD ATHLETE OF THE WEEK - Andrew Mudd, Saginaw Valley

Saginaw Valley State senior Andrew Mudd took home first place in the decathlon at the Cerritos Invitational and Combined Events in California, this past weekend. He finished first in the 100m dash, 1500m run and the pole vaulting events, totaling 7118 points to end the day. Mudd is currently ranked fourth in the NCAA, first in the GLIAC, for the decathlon competition.
