MTU's Monroe Named Midwest Region Player of the Year

 

 

Michigan Technological University's Kyle Monroe Highlights Division II

Conference Commissioners Association Men's Basketball All-Midwest Region Team

 

March 13, 2019: Senior forward Kyle Monroe from the Michigan Technological University was named the 2020 Division II Conference Commissioners Association Midwest Region Player of the Year. Monroe, who was tabbed the 2019-20 Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) Player of the Year, was also named first team all-region and is averaging23.0 points, 6.9 rebounds, 2.3 assists, and 1.4 steals per game.

Senior Brodric Thomas of Truman State University, senior Gabe Kynard of Lake Erie, junior guard/forward Jake Van Tubbergen of Grand Valley State University, and senior Jimmy King of the University of Indianapolis, joined Monroe on the first team.

The second team picks consist of Bellarmine University's Alex Cook, University of Missouri-St. Louis' Yaakema Rose, Ferris State University's Walt Kelser, Ohio Dominican University's Hasan Varence, and Saginaw Valley State University's Myles Belyeu.
