GLIAC Football Players of the Week - Week 4

BAY CITY, Mich. -- The Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) has announced its weekly awards following Week 4 action. Findlay junior quarterback Rhys Gervais earned GLIAC Offensive Player of the Week honors, while Ashland senior linebacker Brandon Gency captured GLIAC Defensive Player of the Week honors. Hillsdale senior placekicker Steven Mette claimed GLIAC Special Teams Player of the Week accolades for the second time this season.

OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK - Rhys Gervais, Findlay

Findlay junior quarterback Rhys Gervais and the Oilers earned a 58-13 road victory at Lake Erie on Saturday going 20-of-26 passing for 324 yards and five touchdowns with no turnovers - accomplishing all these stats in just one half of play. His 76.9 completion percentage is the third highest completion percentage in a game in his career and the fifth game with a 70 or better completion percentage. It is the third time in his career that he has thrown five touchdowns in a game. It marked the eighth time in Gervais' career he has eclipsed the 300 yard mark, the most in UF history.
