GLIAC - Ashland took three of four games at Purdue Northwest over the weekend to secure the No. 1 seed in the 2019 Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Baseball Tournament, which begins Thursday at Traverse City Field.
The Eagles (37-10, 17-7 GLIAC), who also entered the week ranked No. 1 in the Midwest Region rankings, will play No. 6 seed Saginaw Valley State at 2:30 p.m. Thursday. Other first-round pairings pit No. 2 Wayne State vs. No. 5 Purdue Northwest at 10:30 a.m. and No. 3 Northwood vs. No. 4 Davenport at 6 p.m.
Northwood won the 2017 and '18 tournament titles.
