BAY CITY, Mich. - Lake Erie College sophomore running back Anthony Bilal (Painesville, Ohio/Riverside) was named the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) "Offensive Player of the Week" after posting a career-high 210 yards and three touchdowns in the team's season opener last Saturday. Grand Valley State University senior linebacker Jordan Kaufman (Ubly, Mich.) earned "Defensive Player of the Week Honors," while University of Findlay junior wide receiver/kick returner Nathan Morris, Jr. (Warrensville Heights, Ohio) was tabbed "Special Teams Player of the Week."

Lake Erie College sophomore running back Anthony Bilal rushed 22 times for a career-high 210 yards and three touchdowns in the Storm’s Thursday night opening game against Gannon University. The 210 yards were the second most in a single game in school history and he became the first player since 2011 to score three touchdowns in a game. Bilal set up Lake Erie’s first touchdown with a 49-yard run, scored on runs of three- and 12-yards and then had a career long 71-yard run. The performance pushed Bilal over 1,000-yards rushing in just his 10th collegiate game played.

Grand Valley State senior
linebacker Jordan Kaufman recorded a career-high 11 tackles (three
solo/eight assists) and 2.5 tackles for losses (-10 yards) in the
Lakers’ 38-17 victory over Azusa Pacific University. Kaufman
added a quarterback sack (-3) and returned a fumble 17 yards as the
Laker defense limited the Cougars to 339 yards of total offense and
forced four turnovers. The Lakers have won 13 consecutive home and
season openers.

Nathan Morris, Jr - Findlay (JR, WR/KR, 6-1, 205, Warrensville
Heights, Ohio)
University of Findlay junior Nathan Morris had a huge game for the Oilers in their 51-33 win over Urbana University (Ohio) last Thursday and became the first Findlay player to return a kickoff for a touchdown since 1991. Morris returned two kicks for 116 yards, which included a 91-yard return for a score. Morris also made an impact on defense during the win, registering one sack and one fumble recovery.
