BAY CITY, Mich. - Grand Valley State University freshman midfielder Ryan Skomial (Howell, Mich./Hartland) earned GLIAC Women's Lacrosse "Athlete of the Week" honors.

Grand Valley State University freshman midfielder Ryan Skomial tallied nine points, 12 ground balls, 10 draw controls and five caused turnovers in two games against GLIAC opponents, which helped the Lakers remain undefeated in league play. Friday (Apr. 11) against Alderson-Broaddus, Skomial notched a hat trick, dished out an assist, picked up two ground balls and had four draw controls in GVSU’s 20-0 rout. The Howell, Mich. native followed it up with a five-point effort Sunday (Apr. 13) against Tiffin, one of the top contenders in the GLIAC. Skomial scored four goals on just six shots and handed out one assist. She also set a school record with 10 ground balls and matched the program record for the second-most caused turnovers (5).
