BAY CITY, Mich. - University of Findlay junior quarterback Verlon Reed (Columbus, Ohio/Marion-Franklin) was named the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) "Offensive Player of the Week" after throwing for 166 yards and two touchdowns while rushing for 156 yards and two more scores in the Oilers' 40-19 victory over Michigan Technological University on Saturday. Ohio Dominican University sophomore defensive back Cody Culbertson (Galloway, Ohio/Bishop Ready) earned "Defensive Player of the Week Honors," while Ohio Dominican University senior defensive back Justin Bell (Columbus, Ohio/Groveport Madison) was tabbed "Special Teams Player of the Week."

University of Findlay junior quarterback Verlon Reed was a one-man wrecking crew in the Oilers 40-19 win at home over Michigan Technological University on Saturday (Sept. 28). Reed completed 13-of-19 passing attempts for 166 yards and two scores and also added 13 carries for 156 yards and two touchdowns. One of his touchdown runs came on a 79-yard scamper. Reed has thrown for 1,088 yards on the year, the second best mark in the GLIAC. He also leads the conference n completion percentage at 69.0%.

Cody Culbertson - Ohio Dominican

Ohio Dominican University sophomore defensive back Cody Culbertson led the Panther defense in a 57-14 win over No. 9 Grand Valley State University on Saturday (Sept. 28). Culbertson tallied nine tackles, six solo, 3.5 tackles-for-loss and a sack while limiting the GVSU offense to 23 points below its season scoring average and 173 yards below its total offense average. The one tackle for loss came in end zone for safety to give Panthers a 33-14 lead at halftime.

Justin Bell - Ohio Dominican

Ohio Dominican University senior defensive back Justin Bell returned a punt 91 yards for a touchdown to give ODU a 10-0 first quarter lead in the Panthers' 57-14 win over No. 9 Grand Valley State University on Saturday. It was the first punt return for a touchdown in school history. Bell also had a 42-yard punt return and averaged 31.8 yards per return on the day. He tied for team lead with seven tackles as well. Bell currently leads the GLIAC in punt returns averaging 18.4 yards per return.
