Ashland's Owens and Lake Erie's Dudley Chosen As GLIAC Men's Indoor Track & Field "Athletes of the Week"

BAY CITY, Mich. - Ashland University junior Elijah Owens (Shaker Heights, Ohio/Shaker Heights) and Lake Erie College senior Jamil Dudley (Massillon, Ohio/Massillon) have been chosen as the GLIAC Men's Indoor Track & Field "Athletes of the Week."

 

GLIAC Men's Indoor Track Athlete of the Week:

Elijah Owens - Ashland University
Junior - Shaker Heights, Ohio/Shaker Heights

Ashland University hurdleler and sprinter Elijah Owens finished second in the 60 hurdles at the Kent State Tuneup last Saturday. His time was 7.92. That puts him fourth in the country. He is on the provisional list for nationals.

 

 

 

 

 

 

GLIAC Men's Indoor Field Athlete of the Week:

Jamil Dudley - Lake Erie College
Senior - Massillon, Ohio/Massillon

Lake Erie College high jumper Jamil Dudley won the long jump at the Hillsdale Tune-Up Saturday (Feb. 22). Known for his high jumping prowess, Dudley set a school and facility record with a provisional qualifying leap of 7.34 meters (24 feet-one inch) in the long jump to capture first-place.  The jump was the second best in the GLIAC this year and ninth overall in the country.
