KANSAS CITY, Mo. – The top seven spots
went unchanged this week in the new NABC/Division II rankings as
many institutions at the NCAA Division II level have gone into
their final examinations week with limited play until at least the
upcoming weekend.
West Liberty retained the top spot in the rankings with a pair of
conference victories last week, while Bellarmine, Drury, Florida
Southern and Western Washington all remained in the top five as
well. Metropolitan State stayed in the sixth spot and Indiana
(Pa.) holds at No. 7 before the first change occurred, with Dixie
State moving to its highest-ever ranking at No. 8 with its 6-0
start.
Southern Indiana and Montevallo moved into the top 10 for the
first time this year as well at ninth and tenth, respectively,
while Tarleton State moved up as well to No. 11. East
Stroudsburg checked in at the No. 12 position and Livingstone held
at No. 13, while Seattle Pacific moved up a couple of spots to
14th.
Findlay suffered its first loss of the season
Saturday at Northwood and fell to No. 15 as a result, while
Arkansas-Fort Smith moved ahead of Minnesota State after the
Mavericks were knocked off by Winona State Saturday. Colorado
School of Mines holds the No. 18 place ahead of three others that
moved up this week, Midwestern State, Lincoln Memorial and Georgia
Southwestern.
North Carolina-Pembroke and Indianapolis—both undefeated on
the year -- moved into the rankings for the first time this season,
while Franklin Pierce and North Alabama returned to complete this
week’s top 25.
