KANSAS CITY, Mo. – The two teams that squared off in last April's NCAA Division II national championship game now hold the top two spots in the NABC/Division II rankings, as Metropolitan State and Drury sit one-two in the new rankings after the last two undefeated teams in Division II suffered their first losses of the year last week.
Metropolitan State, who has won 17 games in succession, remains atop the rankings for the second straight week while the team that beat it for last year's national title, Drury, rose to second after Tarleton State and East Stroudsburg were handed their first losses last week. West Liberty moved up two spots to third this week, while Tarleton State fell to fourth and Indianapolis jumped three spots to fifth, right ahead of East Stroudsburg.
Indiana (Pa.) is seventh this week, followed by California Baptist, Montevallo and Florida Southern to round out the top ten. The second ten begins with Southern Connecticut State, followed by South Carolina Aiken, Colorado School of Mines, Lincoln Memorial and Seattle Pacific. The top 20 is rounded out by Wisconsin-Parkside, Cal State-San Bernardino, Minnesota State, Lewis and Lake Superior State.
The final five teams this week are Delta State, Southern Indiana, Walsh, Western Washington and Cal Poly Pomona.
