KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Metropolitan State and Drury continue
to hold the top two spots in the NABC/Division II rankings, but a
loss by last week’s third-ranked team, West Liberty, has
moved some teams up and ended a lengthy streak in the process.
Metro State extended its winning streak to 18 games to hold onto
the top spot, while Drury picked up a pair of narrow wins over
teams in last week’s top 25 to extend its run of wins to
11. Tarleton State, Indianapolis and East Stroudsburg all
moved up one spot behind that duo as a result of West
Liberty’s loss. The Hilltoppers are sixth this week,
marking the first time since Jan. 3, 2012 that they have not been
among the top five teams in the rankings.
California Baptist moved up to seventh this week, followed by
Florida Southern, Southern Connecticut State and South Carolina
Aiken. The second five begins with Colorado School of Mines,
followed by Indiana (Pa.), Seattle Pacific, Lincoln Memorial and
Cal State-San Bernardino, while the top 20 is rounded out by
Montevallo, Minnesota State, Lake Superior State, Delta State and
Southern Indiana.
Cal Poly Pomona, Walsh, Lewis, Central Missouri and
Wisconsin-Parkside are the last five teams in this week’s
poll.
The NCAA will release its first regional rankings Wednesday
afternoon.
