BAY CITY, Mich. - Wayne State University freshman Clement Charriere (Marseille, France) earned GLIAC Men's Tennis "Athlete of the Week" honors.

Wayne State University freshman Clement Charriere won all six matches over the weekend, helping lead the Warriors to three home victories and into second place in the conference. WSU improved to 8-2 in the GLIAC with wins over Lake Erie, Walsh and Malone. Playing at the No. 1 flight in singles, Charriere won three-straight matches to improve to 6-1 this season at the top flight. He didn't drop a game in Friday's 6-0, 6-0 win over Lake Erie. He battled back from a set down against Walsh's Pablo Cabezon on Saturday, winning 1-6, 7-5, 10-3 and earned a 6-3, 6-2 triumph over Malone on Sunday., Charriere also won all three doubles matches over the weekend. He won 8-2 against Lake Erie and 8-3 against Walsh, teaming up with Michael FitzGerald at the second doubles flight. On Sunday, Charriere and classmate Ryan Carlson posted an 8-0 victory at No. 3 doubles over Malone.
