BAY CITY, Mich. - Grand Valley State University junior Alan Peterson (Ironwood, Mich. / Luther Wright) and sophomore Jessica Janecke (Scales Mound, Ill. / Wahiert Catholic) have been chosen as the Men's & Women's Cross Country "Runners of the Week", respectively.

Grand Valley State University junior Alan Peterson finished
third at the Michigan State Spartan invite over the weekend with a
time of 24:34 in the non-D1 race, a time that was good enough for
fourth overall. His time would have been good enough for second
place in the Division I portion of the race.

Grand Valley State University sophomore Jessica Janecke, in her
first action since finishing in the fourth at the 2012 NCAA
Division II National Championship meet, won the non-DI race at the
Michigan State Spartan invite over the weekend. Janecke crossed the
line in a time of 21:19 to pace a group of three Lakers that swept
the podium at the race. Janecke won the race by six seconds.
Overall, taking the Division I participants into account, Janecke
finished sixth overall.
