Grand Valley State's Brewis and Ashland's Bridenthal Chosen As GLIAC Women's Outdoor Track & Field "Athletes of the Week"

BAY CITY, Mich. - Grand Valley State University senior Courtney Brewis (Dearborn, Mich./Divine Child) and Ashland University junior Jessica Bridenthal (Akron, Ohio/St. Vincent-St. Mary) have been chosen as the GLIAC Women's Outdoor Track & Field "Athletes of the Week."

 

GLIAC Women's Outdoor Track "Athlete of the Week":

 

Courtney Brewis - Grand Valley State University
Senior - Dearborn, Mich./Divine Child

Grand Valley State senior Courtney Brewis had a spectacular outdoor debut over the weekend, running her first race of the season at the Mt. SAC Relays. She came away with one of the top times in the country in the 10,000 meter run, finishing with a time of 34:38.01, the second-best mark in Division II so far this year and only 1.01 seconds off an automatic qualifying mark.

GLIAC Women's Outdoor Field "Athlete of the Week":

Jessica Bridenthal - Ashland University
Junior - Akron, Ohio/St. Vincent-St. Mary

Ashland University junior Jessica Bridenthal competed at Ohio State's Jesse Owens Track Classic last Saturday. She was third in the hammer throw (192-3) and sixth in the shot put (48-11).
